LARK Distillery Redevelopment:
Delivering a Complete Multi-Trade Industrial Solution
When LARK Distillery undertook the redevelopment of its Pontville production facility, it needed more than an electrical contractor. The project required a delivery partner capable of coordinating multiple trades, integrating complex industrial systems, and managing every stage of construction within a live production environment.
Degree C was engaged to deliver the complete multi-trade package, providing a single point of accountability across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fabrication, automation and construction works. Rather than managing multiple contractors, the client worked with one experienced team responsible for bringing every system together into a fully operational facility.
One Contractor. Multiple Disciplines.
Industrial projects are rarely straightforward.
The redevelopment involved three separate buildings, hazardous production areas, specialist process equipment and significant infrastructure upgrades, all while the site remained operational.
Our scope included:
- Complete electrical infrastructure and reticulation
- Main switchboards and power distribution
- PLC automation and industrial control systems
- Hazardous Area electrical installations
- HVAC and mechanical services
- Gas and plumbing services
- Communications and security systems
- Dry fire systems
- Welding and fabrication
- Demolition, civil works and structural modifications
By delivering every discipline under one contract, we eliminated the coordination challenges that often occur when multiple contractors are involved.
Bringing Complex Systems Together
One of the biggest challenges wasn't installing individual systems -it was ensuring every system worked together.
Electrical infrastructure had to integrate with process equipment. Automation systems needed to communicate with mechanical services. Hazardous Area installations had to meet strict compliance requirements while supporting the daily operation of the distillery.
Our team coordinated every interface between trades, consultants and specialist equipment suppliers to deliver one integrated industrial facility rather than a collection of individual installations.

Industrial Capability Beyond Electrical
This project demonstrates what makes Degree C different.
Many contractors specialise in one trade. We bring multiple disciplines together under one roof.
That meant our project team could coordinate electrical, HVAC, fabrication, process systems, automation and construction simultaneously, resolving design issues as they arose and keeping the project moving without unnecessary delays or contractor conflicts.
The result was a streamlined delivery model that reduced interface risk, simplified communication and gave the client confidence that every element of the project was working towards the same outcome.
Designed for Long-Term Performance
Industrial facilities demand more than a successful handover.
The infrastructure installed throughout the redevelopment was designed to support reliable day-to-day operation while allowing future expansion as production requirements evolve.
Integrated PLC automation, industrial-grade electrical infrastructure, coordinated mechanical systems and future-ready services ensure the facility can continue to grow without major redevelopment in years to come.

A Long-Term Project Partner
Our involvement didn't finish when construction was complete.
Following the redevelopment, Degree C continues to provide ongoing maintenance across the entire site, supporting the electrical, mechanical and industrial systems we helped deliver. This continuity gives the client a single trusted partner who understands the facility from the inside out.
As LARK's Production Manager, Andi Hitchcocks, explained:
"We were looking for a good, strong, knowledgeable, reliable team that could literally cover all aspects, including electrical, mechanical and everything else in between... having one point of communication to oversee everything made life a lot easier."
