In February 2018 Degree C was engaged to supply and install power, data and audio visual services for the Spectra installation at Mona.
This was project managed by Sam Nugent and the on-site foreman was Caleb Fenton.
An 800 amp supply was provided to power the 49 search lights, which shoot light beams up to 15 kilometres into the sky.
Fibre optical cabling was installed to a new communications rack, which houses the security and CCTV infrastructure, as well as audio visual equipment.
There are two separate distribution boards which serve landscape lighting and power services.
A 300KVAr Power Factor Correction Unit was also installed to improve efficiency of the system.
This permanent art installation operates sunset to sunrise during the winter and summer solstice periods (less then 10 days a year).
