Incitec Pivot Devonport Recladding Project
Incitec Pivot Devonport Recladding Project
Delivering Industrial Fabrication at Scale
Degree C is proud to be delivering the staged recladding of the Incitec Pivot facility in Devonport—an extensive industrial refurbishment designed to improve the longevity, safety and performance of one of Tasmania's key manufacturing sites.
The project involves recoating existing structural steelwork with specialised protective coatings before replacing the roof structure, purlins and fibreglass roof and wall cladding. Delivered across multiple stages, the works are carefully planned to minimise disruption while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality within a live industrial environment.
With Stage 3 now complete, the project highlights the strength of Degree C's fabrication capability, combining detailed workshop fabrication with precise on-site installation to deliver practical, long-lasting industrial solutions.

Project by the Numbers
Stages 1–3 Completed
- 40,000+ stainless steel screws installed
- 306 fibreglass roof sheets (3,092m²)
- 208 fibreglass wall cladding sheets
- 3.9 kilometres of specialty-coated roof purlins
- 600 metres of wall girts
- 270 metres of stainless steel flashings
- 45 tonnes of sandblasting media used
- 2,812 litres of specialised protective coating applied

Smart Engineering in Action
One of the standout elements of the project was the design and construction of a custom maintenance access platform positioned 8.5 metres above ground for a conveyor tripper system.
Because the moving equipment extended beyond the platform, conventional handrails were not an option. Instead, our fabrication team engineered an innovative interlinked gate system that ensures one gate is always closed while the other is open, maintaining continuous fall protection without restricting equipment movement.
It's a practical example of how our teams combine fabrication expertise with real-world problem solving to create safer, more effective industrial environments.
