FABRICATION APPRENTICESHIP
An apprenticeship in a Fabrication trade is a Certificate III, 4-year undertaking that can be specialised in either heavy (Boilermaker Welder) or light (Sheetmetal Worker).
In our Fabrication Division you could expect to tackle just about any kind of job and see it through to completion.
The value of projects can range from small installations through to multi-million-dollar projects.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Works include heavy and light fabrication works with all kinds of metal – mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium.
• Heavy structural works for buildings, platforms and walkways.
• Light fabrication works such as toolbox’s, benches, and flashings.
• Installations associated with process, refrigeration, heating, oil lines, acid lines, and general pipe runs.
• Design, build and install conveyor systems for processing operations.
• You’ll use all kinds of hand and battery tools from angle grinders, welders as well as large industrial machines.
• You’ll work with the industries that keep Tasmania growing; agriculture, aquaculture, food processing, manufacturing and large commercial and industrial operations, gaining real-world experience from day one.
WORK EXPERIENCE
