An apprenticeship in Refrigeration is a Certificate III, 4-year undertaking where you’ll learn to install, service and

maintain a wide range of refrigeration and freezing systems - from chilled environments at +3°C through to deep-freeze systems at -18°C and below.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Installation of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems used for cooling or freezing vegetables, fruit, milk, cheese, ice cream, meat, fish, beer and wine.

• Repairs and maintenance of refrigeration, freezing, and air conditioning systems across domestic, and commercial sites.

• Working with copper, and stainless steel piping ranging from 6mm through to 500mm depending on system size.

• You’ll use hand and battery tools as well as advanced electronic testing and fault-finding equipment when completing installation, repair and breakdown work.

• Our apprentices work everywhere; homes, high-rises, hospitals, schools, hotels, supermarkets, shops, factories and major industrial sites - making every day diverse, dynamic and genuinely exciting.

WORK EXPERIENCE

We offer work experience opportunities for school students who are interested in getting hands-on, on-the-job experience within our team. This is a great chance to step inside the industry and see what a career in the trades is really like.

Students can choose to gain experience in:

  • Electrical

Work experience is designed to give students real exposure to the day-to-day work of their chosen trade, helping them understand what’s involved before taking the next step in their career journey. It’s also a valuable opportunity to learn from and connect with experienced tradespeople and leaders within our company.

If you’re exploring career options or already have a trade in mind, our work experience program provides practical insight, guidance, and a supportive environment to learn and grow.
