Degree C Directors Michael Rogers, Craig Edmunds (Chairman), Mac Russell and Mark Nugent with Board Secretary Sarah McCoy.

Craig Edmunds – Chairman

Craig is the Chairman of Degree C and also the CEO of Fairbrother Pty Ltd. Craig has built an extensive knowledge of the construction and building industry and, with his solid leadership skills, brings to the Degree C board a focus on innovation, a strategic vision for growth and a strong culture of people development.

Craig's passion to see skills development and training in the industry saw him join the Tasmanian Building and Construction Training Board in 2005, a position he holds today as Deputy Chairman. His desire to contribute to the industry also resulted in him being elected to the Master Builders Tasmania State Council Board in 2010, and he has served as State President. More recently he has been appointed as a Director to the Master Builders Australia National Board.

Michael Rogers – Director, General Manager

Prior to the restructure of the business in mid-2012, Michael served as General Manager of Fairbrother’s Facility Management business unit and as Manager of Fairbrother Developments – its in-house project development and prospecting arm.

A former senior public servant, Michael has extensive experience in the property and asset management field, having managed assets valued at more than $2 billion for the Department of Health and Human Services Tasmania. Michael has more than 30 years’ experience in the building and maintenance industry and, like several of our Executive and Senior Managers, his career started in the trade and has grown steadily to encompass all facets of business management. Michael holds a Graduate Certificate in Social Science, a Certificate in Project Management and a Diploma in Construction.

As General Manager of Degree C, he is responsible for a diverse contracting business which plays a key role in the building industry supply chain across Tasmania and beyond.

Mark Nugent – Director, Chief Financial Officer

As Degree C’s Chief Financial Officer, Mark is responsible for providing financial leadership and governance to our Board of Directors and Business Units. Mark also leads a team of skilled professionals and administrative support staff who provide essential centralised services.

Mark’s extensive work experience encompasses business management and accounting, administration and human resources. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce through UTAS and is a member of CPA Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mark is also a Director of Fairbrother Pty Ltd, B&E Building Society, a Board Member of OzHelp Tasmania and a Trustee Board member of the Fairbrother Employees Retirement Fund.

Mac Russell – Non-Executive Director

Mac joined the Degree C Board as a Non-Executive Director in 2016 after a 10-year break from involvement in the company. As the former CEO and founder of Russell-Smith Electrical, Mac brings his extensive business experience to the board table, as well as his in-depth knowledge of the Tasmanian electrical contracting industry.

In addition to his role on the Degree C Board, Mac’s current involvements include being the Chairman of a private investment and property company and a Director of B&E Ltd.
He has served as state and national President of the National Electrical and Communications Association and his recent roles included Chairman of Connect Superannuation and the Australian Technical College Northern Tasmania.

He has also been involved as an owner and director of other Tasmanian entities, including Degree C and Lemonthyme Lodge.

Mac was previously a Director of Degree C from 1989 to 2006.
